 F.A.Q.
What's the Check Out procedure ?
Please ensure that the quantity of your chosen product(s) is correct and that your address is correct. You MUST put your house number or house name in the "Street" box. We can't send your order to you otherwise. Include in the "Street" box your village or suburb if it normally forms part of your address.
The order confirmation is generated automatically BEFORE you enter your credit card details on Paypal's secure server. Thus, even if your credit card payment fails, you may think you've paid even when you have not. Email us if you are not sure if your payment has gone through. We will be able to tell you immediately.
If writing a cheque, please make payable to "Cactus Shop"
What size are your plants?
Most plants on our site are from 7cm pots and will be around 5-7cm in diameter. The tall ones will be around 10cm tall. At this size, seed-grown plants will be about 3 years old and plants from cuttings about 1 year old.
What does "ex-pots" mean?
This means that we usually ship plants bare-root - that is, without soil or pots. This save a lot of postage and helps us to keep costs down. If ordering just one or two plants, we may send them in pots for your convenience, if the postage you have paid will cover it. If sending plants as a gift, we can send in pots if requested, but we will charge you for the extra postage cost. Cacti will survive easily for up to a month or more, without soil or light, other succulent plants a little less.
What is Paypal?
They're the people who process your credit card details on our behalf. They are responsible for the secure transmission of hundreds of thousands of credit card transactions daily. You don't have to subscribe to Paypal - you can just use your card in the usual way. Paypal just process the payment for us - it doesn't cost you any more!
How long do I wait for my order before I contact you?
We try very hard to despatch your order within 7 days of receipt, often literally going the extra mile to do so. So far in 2009 we've succeeded, not without a few tears and the odd drop of blood at times as well. So while we understand your desire to get your mitts on your stuff asap, it really is pointless phoning or emailing us the day after you've ordered to find out where your items are. Patience is an under-rated virtue.
What is the "log in" button?
This button allows regular customers to log on to the store with a username and password. This provides the following benefit:
Your address information is stored so that you do not have to retype it every time you reach the checkout.
If you are a regular customer, ask us to send you login details if you would like to make use of this.
And finally, tell us if there's anything you'd like us to do differently. And, if you spot a product which you think we should be stocking, we'd like to hear about it. |
